What's with #7? Did they pay you? They paid you, didn't they?
I contend that Shrek is one of the best romantic-comedies of the last few years. It's also one of the most tightly crafted buddy comedies, road movies, quest movies and comedies of this young millennium. That beautiful "loneliness" montage gave me chills.
If you've got a problem with that, we can take this outside.
Shrek IS good. I didn't like the Graduate though. I know I'm alone on this one, but I found it slow and boring.
Isn't it cheating to count the Before Sunrise / Before Sunset pair as one? :)
Seriously, interesting list. Annie Hall is wonderful, but I must admit I detest As Good As It Gets. The Apartment and The Graduate could make one very cynical about love though...
Well, I do consider Before Sunrise and Before Sunset to be two sides of the same coin. Yeah, it is cheating, but it's my blog, my list, my rules!
It's funny how As Good As It Gets really seems to divide people. There are many that truly loathe it.
And I never said I wasn't cynical about love. In fact, most of the films on my list are both jaded and romantic, and few of them end with the central couple living happily ever after.
Read into that what you will...
